Praying in the Holy Ghost
Required course in the ROJU University Core Curriculum.
Course Overview
PHG-501: Praying in the Holy Ghost equips students to develop a deeper, more intimate, and more powerful prayer life through the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Throughout Scripture, believers are encouraged not only to pray but to pray under the guidance, power, and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. This course explores the biblical foundation for Spirit-led prayer, intercession, worship, praying in tongues, and praying according to the will of God.
Students will discover how praying in the Holy Spirit strengthens their faith, builds spiritual endurance, sharpens spiritual discernment, and cultivates a deeper relationship with God. The course emphasizes that prayer is more than presenting requests—it is communion with God, partnership with the Holy Spirit, and participation in God’s work on earth.
Special attention is given to the biblical teaching on praying in unknown tongues as a personal prayer language, Spirit-led intercession, praying according to Scripture, listening to the voice of God, spiritual warfare through prayer, and praying for the nations. Students will learn how consistent, Spirit-led prayer transforms both the individual believer and the ministries to which God has called them.
Through Scripture study, workbook assignments, guided prayer exercises, personal reflection, practical ministry application, and times of personal devotion, students will develop greater confidence in praying under the direction of the Holy Spirit and experience a richer, more effective prayer life.
